Legal documents often require the signature and seal of a "notarial officer." The first stop for any question about notarial officers (which includes notaries and justices of the peace among others) should be the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s website. This website has individual pages on notarial officers and notarial acts as well as a comprehensive manual on the qualifications and duties of notarial officers in New Hampshire.
Since New Hampshire citizens may have to use public documents from other states or conduct business abroad, we’ve also included links to the authentication offices of all 50 states as well as the U.S. State Department.
